Day-19 Lunden to Thame (14th May 2022)
We left from Lungde at 8:00am and walked down a nice valley past some villages like Maralung, Taranga, Hungmo and crossed some bad landslides on narrow exposed trails and reached Thame-Tenga where to lots of land erosions. We walked for sometime at river bed level before climbing some ridges to finally look down at Thame in a bowl below.
We went down to Paradise Lodge and took a room there (at Noon). Paradise was nice lodge and we got good service from the Ladies' who run it. From the GH front lawn you get a 360* skyline view of mountains on all sides! I had taken a a few videos there that you will find in Flickr album's link below.
Day-20 Thame (3800M) to Namche (3440M) (on 15th May 2022)
Today's walk from Thame to Namche was down the spectacular Thamichhe Valley with several nice villages on the way in order: Samde, Thamte, Samsing, Thamo, Phurte. Most of these places were well maintained and clean; especially Thamo. They all had a local Monsatery or Gompa ususally a at higher level above the Village that would require an additional couple of hours going up and coming down. I did not do any of those Gompas; thinking best done on a separate trek to explore those.
Thamo especially nice & super clean village with a Monastery on the trail itself. It had solar street lamps on the trail every 100M. An entry arch at both ends of the trails through the village. At tehexit arch I met a squad of Ladies dressed in maroon frocks and traditional head gear going the Monastery or Nunnery there. Were they Lady Monks? I wondered. (see Video in Flickr).
Near the Furte (Phurte) Chorten, there was big signpost explaining trhe wonders of Thamichhe Valley. Will post pic and link of that below. We reached the Namche Helipad at around 12:15am and from there we walked down into Namche's bowl to stay at The Khumbu Lodge again (12:45pm) .
