Daily Trek Diaries:

Day-13 > 16 Nov 2018 - Dorba to Dhunchet

We left Dorba Shack at 7:30AM and walked along the road taking some climbing shortcuts and by 8:30AM we reached a Meena Teahouse at Dhunchet with a clear view down to Budhi Gandaki River and the Manaslu Valley (where the trek starts). Today was really a Rest day at Dhunchet after yesterday's marathon 14 Hours walk.

Dhunchet appears ahead after just 1 hour climb

Day-14 > 17 Nov 2018 - Dhunchet to Baseri (Lower)

We left Dhunchet at 8;00AM and walked all the way down on dirt road that goes all the way to Upper Baseri reaching at 12:30PM. There we had a steep climb down to lower Baseri the village where my Trek Agency Suman Neupane had his ancestral home. He wanted me to stay there and meet his old Aunt and Cousin-Sister who lived there. We located his home after some enquiries in the village. It was very nice home with Garden and Land to grow crops. Nima managed to get us some Shikar Beer and we had that and thena Dal-Bhat lunch cooked by Suman's cousin.

Day-15 > 18 Nov 2018 - Baseri (Lower) to Kathmandu

The original plan given by Suman Neupane was to end trek in Arukhet and then if I wanted to do an additional 3rd segment trek on to Gorkha for another 4-5 days to get a different Gorkha culture villages too.

But when Suman said on phone that If I like, I can catch a daily morning Bus (at 6:30AM) that one can board from his Home's door-step directly to Kathmandu, I decided to go for that.

So we were on the road just below his homestay and heard the Bus coming at 6:30AM from Baseri stand, as scheduled at 6:30AM.The Bus took us via Dhading Besi, Arukhet and we reached Kathmandu at 3.00PM

Back in Kathmandu, went to Asian Hiking Team office and met Suman Neupane and briefed him about the successful trek we had and the excellent service provided by Nima Tamang. Settled accounts with Nima and took the last Farewell pictures with NIma and Suman.
