14 Kangbachen
A 22-day Teahouse Trek from Sukhetar to Kanchenjunga S-BC and then via SeleLa pass to Kanchenjunga N-BC and back to Taplejung in Eastern Nepal.
Trek Day - 14 > Trek from Ghunsa (3410M) to Kangbachen (4150M)
The trail heading North out of Ghunsa for several initial KMs, was through forests of bright Autumn Colors along the river

On 28th Oct 2015 - After breakfast we left our Ghunsa GH at 7:45AM heading North and then turning slightly NW as the valley turned.

We walked along the Ghunsa river all the time and through heavy forests of full of Autumn colors for the two hours or so climbing up gradually. Then we crossed a bridge to the true-right side of river and reached a Teahouse in 5 Mins from there. We had Tea and biscuits there and then resumed trek.

We started climbing up a bit and soon came closer to a huge Glacier joining from the Right. That was the Glacier running down from under Mt Jannu. Here we came across a long landslide a dangerous crossing with just a narrow 6 inches path to walk. I crossed quickly with Mingam just a step behind me grabbing my back-pack strap; so I don't miss a step and fall down to the river to the right. Paul who had gone ahead took a picture of me crossing that dangerous landslide.

After crossing the landslide, looking to the right across the valley we could see the huge glacier from Mt. Jannu joining the river with a large landslide at its end ... and there too was another trail path crossing that landslide clearly visible. See that pic on the Right >>
At 1:50 PM we could see Kangbachen Entry Gate ahead
We reached Kangbachen around 2:30PM and took rooms in The Kangbachen White-House Teahouse there. There were a few other trekkers already staying there too.
