Trek Day - 12 Trek Sele-La Camp to Ghunsa

On 26th Oct 2015 - After breakfast we went back to our cabins to pack up and start the trek down to Ghunsa. Todays trek is mostly downward and shorter than yesterday, maybe just about 5 hours.

The Sele-La Camp Teahouse cabins where we stayed last night

We started our trek at 8:45AM rather late than our usual 7AM. Mostly down with some ups too. Lots of Rhododendron forests on way. There were some prayer flag points on way too. In fact, we lay down and rested for sometime on a meadow there.

As soon as we entered Ghunsa, we found this "Essential oil" plant

While descending from Sele-La, for the last 1 hour while walking along a ridge-line, we could see the village of Phale, way down by the river. There is a Monastery there which we visited during our return trek after North Base Camp.

Ghunsa was neat little village with a main street and several Teahouses on either side. We took rooms in a nice lodge with a huge front lawn. We planned to stay an extra Rest day here; after the Sele-La pass crossing exertion. We had electricity here and so we could recharge our Batteries.

The Teahouse was run by an elderly couple along with their young Daughter-in-Law with her 1 year old baby boy.
