Day-19 - 13th October 2007: Debuche to Namche Bazaar

We left Debuche at 6:15AM and climbed up the steep trail to reach Tengboche by 7:00AM. We didnt stop except to take a couple of pictures of the Monastry and continued climbing dow steeply to Phungi-Thanga. And cossed this bridge over Imja Khola by 8:40AM.

At 7:00AM we pass these very familiar sight of Tengboche Monastery in morning mist

A last look at Tengboche Monastery as we walk past

We start our descent from Tengboche ... view towards Phungi Tanga

Morning incense of burning of 'herbs' (in the tin pot on the tree) in Paradise GH garden and cooking smoke from teahouse across.

That nice looking house on top of a central ridge between Tengboche & Namche Hills .... seen here from Namche-end.

Crossing Imja+Dudh Kosi (8:40AM) .... on this solid wooden bridge

Pungi Thanga ...water driven Prayer wheels

We hear from Kancha (Namche Inn, Manager) that the flight from Lukla are stopped for last 3 days. There is a backlog built-up, but he was feeling since the weather has cleared up today; they will fly extra flights, (upto 50 per day), and hopefully by the time we reach Lukla day-after the flights should be back on normal schedule. Bhavnath was a bit worried a he wanted to get back home by Dasain ... so he was saying a prayer to Pashupatinath-ji (The God in Pashupathi Nath temple, in Kathmandu) for weather to clear and hold!

Spent the afternoon in Namche checking emails in a cybercafe and visiting the local bazaar. Namche is pretty nice bustling place with sherpas roaming around and tourists from all over the world excited to be here!

Staying again at Namche-Inn, I got the same room with my window opening out to the same tent-camp ... I get to see another group camping there now!

We are back on the ridge on top of Namche at 12:30PM
