Dharamsala and McLeod-Ganj

Shimla 21st April 2005: I had just completed a 13-day tour of Spiti and Kinnaur areas of HP and got back to Shimla yesterday. I have another 9 days free before heading back to Mumbai. So I plan to explore western HP like Dharamsala, Mc Leod Ganj and maybe Dalhousie, Chamba, Kaltope, Khajjiar etc.

I left Shimla by the 9:00am Bus to Dharamsala. It was a tiring 9-hour journey going via Dharlaghat, Brhampukar, Ghagas, Ghumarwin, Hamirpur, Nadaun, Jawalamukhi, Ranital, Kangra and Dhramsala. I reached at 7:00 pm and quickly took a room at HPTDC Yatri Niwas for a night (Rs 330).

Next day morning shifted to a room (Rs 200) in a Homestay-GH called Sunrise-GH run, by a nice guy Atul Varma and his wife. Then took a Bus to Mc Leod Ganj and visited some of the sights.

23rd April 2005 - Today did the Triund Trek with Atul, the owner of the Sunrise GH. That trek is described in a seperate Page in the link below.

24th April 2005 - Today did some local sights in Dharamsala including the Kangra Arts Museum etc. Tomorrow plan to move on to Dalhousie.
