Ramgarh - the 3rd town in Shekawati area with painted Havelis & Chattris

20-November-2012: The friendly reception guy at Shahi Place suggested I visit Ramgarh and Mahansar as a day-trip and come back to stay another night there. Or he said I could move on to Bissau and then to Jhunjhunu from there. All these places are all nearby; the circuit of all Shekawati havelis is in a loop of 250Kms as can be seen from above map.

I left Mandawa after breakfast at 9:00AM The rural roads were narrow but in good-tarred condition; still I got a puncture there! As I got out and sweated to fix the small jack, along came a Sumo, with 5-6 elderly Rajput men (all retiree drivers and infantry men from Indian army they said) that stopped near me, the men tumbled out and did the entire job of changing the tire in just a jiffy. Wow! so helpful and friendly they were!! They said I could have the flat tire repaired just ahead in Ramgarh.

I reached Ramgarh at 10:00AM and got the flat tire repaired first and then went and saw the two main sights in Ramgarh - The Poddar Group of Havelis (pretty rundown, most of them) and the Ramgopal Poddar Chattris (also neglected but with some awesome color painting and motifs in their domes) near the bus-stand.

By 11:10AM I had finished seeing the Ramagrh sites and started my drive to Mahansar. It was not far off and I reached there by 11:35AM
