1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Vortica (the "App"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the App. Continued use following any update to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

Vortica is a quantum-powered exploration app that generates real random coordinates using the ANU Quantum Random Number Generator and a proprietary Mahalanobis distance-based Void Detection Algorithm. Features include quantum coordinate generation, three exploration modes (Attractor, Void, Anomaly), an interactive map display, one-tap navigation, and a local exploration journal. Features are subject to change without notice.

3. Informational and Entertainment Purposes Only

Vortica is designed for exploration and entertainment purposes only. Coordinates generated by the App are random in nature and do not constitute recommendations, directions, or endorsements of any location. Team EXCITING is not responsible for any outcomes resulting from visiting a generated destination. Always exercise personal judgment and ensure your safety when exploring unfamiliar locations.

4. Data Collection and Privacy

(a) What We Collect

The only data collected by Vortica is a device identifier used solely for the purpose of serving advertisements within the App. This is handled by our third-party ad provider and is strictly limited to ad delivery functionality.

(b) What We Do Not Collect

Vortica does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:

- Your location or GPS data

- Your exploration journal entries, notes, or photos

- Any personal information or identifiers beyond the ad-serving device ID

- Any usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral data

Your location is accessed in real time solely to calculate your quantum destination. It is never recorded, transmitted, or retained in any form. All journal data including coordinates, notes, and photos is stored exclusively on your local device and is never uploaded to any server operated by Team EXCITING or any third party.

(c) Third-Party Advertising

The App displays advertisements served by a third-party ad provider. That provider may collect a device identifier for ad targeting purposes in accordance with their own privacy policy. Team EXCITING does not have access to or control over the data practices of the ad provider beyond what is disclosed in their policy.

5. Local Data Storage

All App data including exploration history, journal entries, notes, photos, and user preferences is stored locally on your device only. Team EXCITING has no access to locally stored data. Uninstalling the App may permanently delete all locally stored data depending on your device's OS and backup configuration.

6. User Conduct

You agree to use the App lawfully and responsibly. You must not:

- Reverse engineer, exploit, or attempt to circumvent the App's systems

- Use the App in situations that require undivided attention, including while operating a vehicle

- Visit any generated destination that may be dangerous, restricted, or privately owned without authorization

- Use the App as a substitute for emergency or professional services

7. Safety and Personal Responsibility

Quantum-generated coordinates may point to locations that are remote, inaccessible, or potentially unsafe. You are solely responsible for assessing the safety of any destination before visiting. Team EXCITING assumes no liability for injury, loss, trespassing, or any other consequence arising from your decision to visit a generated location.

8. Third-Party Services

The App may contain links to third-party platforms including social media and external websites. Team EXCITING is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service. Your use of third-party links is governed solely by those services' respective terms and policies.

9. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in and to the App, including the proprietary Void Detection Algorithm and all associated software, are owned by or licensed to Team EXCITING. These Terms grant no right, title, or interest beyond a limited personal license to use the App as intended.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEAM EXCITING DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY OF GENERATED COORDINATES, AND UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TEAM EXCITING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, TRESPASSING, DATA LOSS, OR RELIANCE ON ANY GENERATED COORDINATE OR APP OUTPUT.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Team EXCITING and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the App, or any action taken as a result of using the App.

13. Modifications and Termination

Team EXCITING may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or these Terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with any modification, discontinue use of the App.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation before submission to the courts of competent jurisdiction.

15. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed without affecting the remaining provisions. These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Team EXCITING regarding the App.

1. Overview

Vortica ("the App") is a quantum-powered exploration app that generates random coordinates using the ANU Quantum Random Number Generator and a proprietary Mahalanobis distance-based Void Detection Algorithm. This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed when you use the App, how it is used, and what choices you have. Vortica is designed with privacy at its core — we collect the absolute minimum necessary to operate the App.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Team EXCITING does not operate proprietary servers for user data collection. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share on our own infrastructure:

- Your name, phone number, address, or any personal identifier

- Your location or GPS data of any kind

- Your exploration journal entries, notes, or photos

- Your exploration history or generated coordinates

- Contacts, SMS, call logs, or payment information

- Any usage analytics, behavioral data, or crash reports

Your location is accessed in real time solely to calculate your quantum destination. It is never recorded, transmitted, or retained in any form by Team EXCITING or any third party associated with us.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored exclusively on your local device to provide App functionality:

- Exploration journal entries, coordinates, notes, and photos

- App preferences (language, radius settings)

- Exploration history and saved destinations

All locally stored data is managed entirely by your device's OS. Team EXCITING has no access to this data at any time. Uninstalling the App will typically remove all locally stored data, subject to your OS behavior and backup settings.

4. Advertising and Device Identifier

Vortica displays advertisements served by a third-party ad provider. For the sole purpose of ad delivery, the ad provider may process your device's Advertising ID (AAID on Android / IDFA on iOS) and basic device signals. This is the only data collection that occurs in connection with Vortica.

Team EXCITING does not receive, access, or store your Advertising ID or any ad-related data on its own servers. All advertising data practices are governed entirely by the third-party ad provider's privacy policy.

You may reset or limit your Advertising ID and opt out of personalized advertising at any time via your device settings:

- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads

- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

5. Permissions

Vortica requests the following device permissions:

- Location: Required in real time to calculate your quantum destination. Never stored or transmitted.

- Camera / Photos: Required only if you choose to attach a photo to a journal entry. Access is limited to content you explicitly select. Photos are saved locally on your device only.

- Internet: Required to fetch quantum random numbers from the ANU QRNG API and to serve advertisements.

Vortica does not request access to contacts, call logs, SMS, microphone, or any permission beyond those listed above.

6. Third-Party Services and Links

The App may include links to third-party platforms including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Telegram. When you access these links, your device connects directly to those services and their respective privacy policies apply. Team EXCITING is not responsible for third-party data practices.

The ANU QRNG API is used solely to fetch random numbers for coordinate generation. No user data is transmitted to the ANU server.

7. Data Retention

- On-device data: Retained until you delete individual entries, reset the App, or uninstall

- Advertising data: Governed entirely by the third-party ad provider's retention policies

- Location data: Not retained at any point

8. Security

Vortica relies on platform-level protections including sandboxed app storage, OS permission controls, and HTTPS encrypted transport for all network requests. Since virtually no user data is transmitted, your privacy exposure is minimal by design.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of consent required by local law. If you believe a child has used the App and submitted any data, please contact us at corp.exciting@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Your Rights and Choices

You may at any time:

- Change language and app preferences in Settings

- Delete individual journal entries or your entire exploration history

- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data

- Reset or limit your Advertising ID via device settings

- Decline to open any third-party links

As Team EXCITING does not store personal data on its own servers, we are unable to fulfill server-side deletion requests for data we do not hold. For data processed by the third-party ad provider, please refer to that provider's policy and opt-out mechanisms.

11. GDPR and CCPA Disclosures

GDPR (EU/EEA): Team EXCITING does not process personal data on its own servers. The only data processing relevant to GDPR is performed by the third-party ad provider, subject to their own compliance framework and consent mechanisms.

CCPA/CPRA (California): Team EXCITING does not sell personal information. You may opt out of ad personalization via your device's Advertising ID settings at any time.

12. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect feature changes, legal requirements, or third-party policy changes. The "Last Updated" date will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
