1) What HerePhone Is

A personal safety and phone-locator tool. HerePhone uses on-device voice recognition to detect a custom wake word (e.g., “HerePhone”) and trigger alerts — sound, vibration, and flash, so you can find your phone quickly even in silent mode. Local first. Voice detection and alert execution happen entirely on your device; no audio is sent to servers.

2) What HerePhone Is NOT (No Emergency or Medical Use)

HerePhone is not an emergency or medical response system. It does not contact authorities or third parties. Performance may vary depending on microphone quality, device model, noise level, and distance. For real emergencies, contact local emergency services.

3) Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old (or the age of digital consent in your region) to use HerePing. If you activate HerePing for someone else, you confirm you have lawful permission to do so.

4) Your Responsibilities

Use safely. Operate the app only when it is safe to do so; do not use while driving or performing tasks requiring attention. Respect privacy. If microphone access is active, ensure you comply with local laws and the rights of others nearby. Keep your device secure and charged so alerts work as intended.

5) Account & Access

No account required. HerePing functions without registration.
Local storage only. Settings and preferences are stored on-device (e.g., system storage or SharedPreferences).

6) Permissions

Microphone: Detects your voice wake word.
Camera/Flashlight: Blinks the LED as a visual alert.
Vibration: Emits an emergency vibration pattern.
Background Service / Foreground Notification: Keeps listening active while the screen is off.

You can disable permissions in system settings, but some features may not function properly without them.

7) Content & Acceptable Use

Interfere with, decompile, or reverse-engineer the app.
Circumvent security or use HerePing for unauthorized surveillance.
Use HerePhone in violation of any law or third-party rights.

Violation may result in suspension or termination of access.

8) Data & Privacy

Local by default. HerePhone does not upload voice recordings or personal data to external servers. No sale of data. We do not sell or share personal information for marketing purposes. Your control. You may reset the app or clear stored settings at any time. For details, see our Privacy Policy (linked in-app).

9) Safety, Accuracy & Limitations

Results are approximate. Wake-word detection accuracy depends on hardware and environment. Device and battery conditions may affect responsiveness. Do not rely on HerePhone for critical or life-safety situations.

10) Intellectual Property

HerePhone, its design, interface, and content are owned or licensed by us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

11) Changes to the App or Terms

We may update features, pause, or discontinue any part of the app without notice. We may also revise these Terms at any time; continued use of HerePhone means you accept the updated Terms.

12) Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES (EXPRESS OR IMPLIED), INCLUDING ACCURACY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

13) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the HerePhone team from any claims arising from your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14) Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea (excluding conflict-of-law rules). Any dispute shall be brought before the Seoul Central District Court, unless local law requires otherwise. If arbitration or alternative dispute resolution is mandated by your store jurisdiction, those rules apply.

HerePhone helps you quickly locate your smartphone when lost or misplaced. We respect your privacy, all data stays on your device by default.

2. What We Access

Microphone: to detect your voice command or alert tone (no cloud upload).
Location (optional): to help show approximate device area when triggered.
Notifications: for alerts and device status updates.
Local storage: to save minimal settings and preferences.
We don’t access your photos, contacts, SMS, call logs, or Bluetooth/Wi-Fi data beyond basic function needs.

3. Data Storage & Retention

All data is stored locally on your device. No personal information or recordings are sent to our servers. Uninstalling the app deletes all stored HerePhone data.
