By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Use.
If you do not agree, please do not use Night Vision.

1. What Night Vision Is

Night Vision is a personal safety companion app.
It uses device sensors (GPS, microphone, light, motion) to detect risky situations and alert your trusted contact.
All detection runs on your device — no cloud servers, no tracking.

2. What Night Vision Is NOT

Night Vision is not a law-enforcement or emergency service.
It does not guarantee your safety or prevent real-world harm.
Always call local authorities in an emergency.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the digital consent age in your region).
If using Night Vision for someone else, you confirm you have their consent.

4. Your Responsibilities

Use safely — do not operate the app while driving.
Keep your phone accessible during active monitoring.
If audio recording is enabled, follow your local privacy laws.
You are responsible for the accuracy of contact information used for alerts.

5. Permissions

Night Vision may request:

Location – for route tracking & deviation alerts.
Microphone – for voice or distress detection.
Light sensor – for sudden darkness detection.
Motion sensors – for abnormal movement analysis.
Notifications – to show alerts and status updates.
You can disable permissions anytime in system settings; some features may stop working.

6. Data & Privacy

Local by default: All scan data is processed and stored on your device.
No selling or sharing: We never sell, trade, or share personal data.
You’re in control: You can clear logs or disable background detection anytime.

7. Alerts & Limitations

Night Vision may send automatic notifications or messages to your chosen contact during emergencies.
Results are approximate — sensor readings can vary by device, signal, or environment.
The app does not replace emergency services.

8. Paid Features

If future versions include paid features or premium tracking:

Prices and terms will be displayed before purchase.
Purchases are handled via Google Play or Apple App Store policies.

9. Intellectual Property

Night Vision, its name, icons, and interface are owned or licensed by us.
You receive a limited, non-transferable license for personal, non-commercial use.

10. Changes

We may update the app or these Terms at any time.
Continued use means you accept the latest version.

11. Disclaimer

Night Vision is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We make no guarantees regarding accuracy, uptime, or reliability.
Use at your own discretion.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law,
we are not liable for damages, data loss, or personal injury arising from app use.
Our total liability shall not exceed USD $10 or the amount you paid in the last 12 months.

Night Vision helps users stay safe while walking or traveling by monitoring surroundings through on-device sensors.
We respect your privacy and built the app to operate locally by default.
This Policy explains what we access, how we use it, and your choices.

2. Information We Collect (and Don’t)

We do not run our own backend or upload your personal data to any server.
To provide safety features, Night Vision may access:

Location (GPS): to track route, detect deviations, and log safe zones.
Microphone: to detect abnormal sounds, distress words, or environmental noise spikes.
Light sensor: to detect sudden darkness or low-visibility environments.
Motion sensors: to recognize unusual movements or stops.
Notifications: to display alerts and risk warnings.
Local storage (SharedPreferences/app storage): to save preferences, recent events, and your safety logs.

We do not access your camera, photos, contacts, SMS, call logs, or Wi-Fi/Bluetooth scanning.
All history and logs remain on your device unless you export or share them manually.

3. Advertising & Third-Party Services (AdMob)

If ads are enabled, Night Vision uses Google AdMob for in-app advertising.
AdMob may process limited identifiers (AAID/IDFA), region, and device usage to deliver or measure ads.

Personalized vs. Non-personalized ads: You can choose through consent prompts or system ad settings.
No data sale: We never sell or broker user data.
Child safety: The app is not directed to children under 13, and child-directed ad settings are off.

4. Data Usage & Retention

All scan data and logs stay on your device for safety reports and alert history.
We do not upload, store, or transmit this data externally.
Deleting or uninstalling the app removes locally stored data.

5. Security

Night Vision minimizes risk by keeping all data local.
Still, no system is perfectly secure — protect your device with a passcode or biometrics and keep your OS updated.

6. Accuracy & Limitations

Sensor readings can vary by device, signal quality, and environment.
Results may include false positives/negatives and are for awareness only, not emergency guarantees.
