Article 1. Purpose

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the mobile application EcoLog (the "App") provided by Corp. Exciting ("Developer", "we", "us"). By installing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Article 2. Service Description

EcoLog is a neighborhood ecology mapping and field guide application designed to help users discover, identify, and document local wildlife and plant species.

The App provides:

• Interactive eco map for logging and visualizing wildlife observations by GPS location

• AI-powered species identification from photos via secure external API

• Personal field guide creation with species entries, scientific names, habitats, seasons, and conservation status

• Observation capture with photo, location, weather, and field notes

• Dark mode and Nature mode optimized for outdoor fieldwork

• Full multilingual support: English, Español, 中文, 日本語, 한국어

• Local encrypted storage of all observations, species entries, and field notes via device storage only

• Fully offline operation for core features with no account or login required

What the App does NOT provide:

• The App does NOT guarantee the accuracy of AI species identification results, as all identifications are estimates based on image analysis

• The App does NOT represent or speak on behalf of any government agency, wildlife organization, scientific institution, or conservation body

• The App is NOT a substitute for professional ecological assessment, biological survey, or environmental consulting

• The App does NOT guarantee the accuracy of GPS coordinates, as location data is dependent on your device's sensors and environmental conditions

• The App does NOT provide medical, legal, or safety advice of any kind

Article 3. Content Disclaimer

All features, designs, visual elements, and content within EcoLog are created exclusively by Corp. Exciting.

You acknowledge that:

• EcoLog is an independent ecology logging tool and is NOT affiliated with any government agency, national park authority, wildlife organization, or scientific institution

• Species data, conservation status labels, and habitat descriptions included in the App are for general informational and reference purposes only

• AI identification results are probabilistic estimates and may not accurately reflect the actual species photographed

• Users are solely responsible for their own use of and decisions made based on the App's data and content

• Wildlife observation and interaction should always be conducted in accordance with local laws and regulations

Article 4. Data Storage & Privacy

(1) Local Data Storage

All user data including observations, species entries, field notes, photos, and app settings is stored locally on your device only using encrypted local storage. The Developer does not collect, store, or transmit this data to any external server.

(2) No Personal Data Collection

• The App does not require account registration or login

• The App does NOT collect personally identifiable information (PII)

• The App does NOT collect, store, or transmit activity data, behavioral data, or usage history to any server

• The App does NOT store or transmit any photos beyond the immediate AI identification request described in Section 4(4)

(3) GPS & Location Data — Zero Collection Policy

• GPS and location data is used solely to record the coordinates of wildlife observations, entirely on your device

• EcoLog does NOT collect, store, or transmit your location data to any first-party or third-party service under any circumstance

• Location data never leaves your device and is never used for advertising, analytics, or profiling of any kind

(4) AI Service & Image Data

• When using the AI Identify feature, the submitted photo is transmitted securely over HTTPS to a third-party AI API service solely for the purpose of species identification

• This image transmission is the only exception to on-device data processing in EcoLog

• Transmitted image data is processed by the third-party AI service under their own privacy policy. Corp. Exciting does not store, log, or retain any transmitted image data on its own servers

• Use of the AI Identify feature is entirely optional. All other core features operate fully offline

• Users should not photograph individuals, private property, or sensitive locations when using the AI Identify feature

(5) Advertising & Device ID

• The App may transmit your device's advertising ID (IDFA on iOS / GAID on Android) solely for the purpose of serving advertisements through third-party ad networks

• No location data, observation data, photo data, or any other personal or behavioral data is collected, stored, or shared for advertising purposes

(7) Data Usage Restrictions

The Developer does NOT:

• Collect, store, or transmit any personal identification data beyond the advertising ID described above

• Sell or share user data with third parties for commercial profiling purposes

• Use observation data, location data, or behavioral patterns for any analytics or advertising profiling

• Store any user observations, species entries, or field notes on external servers

Article 5. Third-Party Services

The App may rely on third-party services including:

• External distribution platforms (Google Play, Apple App Store)

• Third-party advertising networks (for ad delivery via device advertising ID only)

• External AI API services (for species identification via image analysis only)

These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. The Developer is not responsible for their practices. Users may opt out of personalized advertising through their device settings.

Article 6. Accuracy of AI Identification & Ecological Data

EcoLog's AI identification feature processes photos submitted by the user and returns probabilistic species identification results. The Developer makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any identification result or ecological data displayed in the App, including but not limited to:

• Species name and classification

• Conservation status

• Habitat and seasonal information

• Geographic range and distribution data

Actual species present may differ from AI identification results. Users should not make critical decisions — including decisions related to conservation, land management, or ecological assessment — based solely on data provided by this App. If precise species identification is required, consult a qualified ecologist or naturalist.

Article 7. User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful and personal purposes

• Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal wildlife protection laws and regulations when observing or documenting species

• Not disturb, harm, capture, or interfere with any wildlife encountered during use of the App

• Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, decompile, or exploit the App or its content

• Understand that the App is an informational tool and not a professional ecological, scientific, or safety service

• Take full responsibility for any decisions made based on data or information provided by the App

• Ensure that photos submitted for AI identification do not contain personally identifiable information of other individuals

Article 8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied

• The Developer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the App

• The Developer is not liable for any misidentification of species or ecological data that results in any decision, action, or outcome by the user

• The Developer is not liable for any injury, accident, or harm that may occur during outdoor wildlife observation activities

• The Developer makes no guarantees regarding uninterrupted availability or error-free operation of the AI identification service

• The Developer is not responsible for inaccuracies in GPS or location data reported by your device

Article 9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, visual elements, features, and data presentations within the App are the property of Corp. Exciting. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Unauthorized reproduction, modification, or distribution of any App content is strictly prohibited.

User-generated content including personal observations, field notes, and species entries remains the property of the user. By using the App, users confirm that all submitted content is their own and does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

Article 10. Service Changes

The Developer may modify, suspend, or discontinue any features including AI identification, map functionality, field guide tools, or any other App content at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of such changes.

Article 11. Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Users are encouraged to review these Terms regularly. The most current version will always be available within the App or on the Developer's website.

Article 12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea.

1. Overview

EcoLog ("App") is a neighborhood ecology mapping and field guide application developed by Corp. Exciting.

EcoLog is built with a privacy-first architecture:

• No account required

• No personal data stored on developer servers

• All observations, species entries, field notes, and photos remain on-device only

• No activity data or user input is transmitted to external servers

• GPS and location data is used solely on-device and is never transmitted externally under any circumstance

• The only external data transmission is your device's advertising ID, used solely for ad delivery

• AI identification requests transmit only the submitted photo, securely over HTTPS, solely for species identification

2. Data We Collect

A. Data We DO NOT Collect

Corp. Exciting does NOT collect or store the following:

❌ Name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifiers

❌ GPS coordinates, location history, or any location-derived data

❌ Device identifiers such as IMEI or MAC address

❌ Observation history, species entries, or field notes on any external server

❌ Photos or images submitted for AI identification beyond the immediate identification request

❌ Behavioral patterns, usage history, or in-app activity on any external server

❌ Any data beyond the advertising ID described in Section 2C

B. Data Stored Locally (On-Device Only)

EcoLog stores the following only on your device:

C. Advertising ID

The App transmits your device's advertising ID (IDFA on iOS / GAID on Android) solely for the purpose of delivering advertisements through third-party ad networks. This is the only data transmitted externally by Corp. Exciting.

You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings:

• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → opt out of Ads Personalization

D. AI Identification — Image Transmission

When using the AI Identify feature:

• The submitted photo is transmitted securely over HTTPS to an external API endpoint solely for the purpose of species identification

• The transmitted image is not stored, logged, or used for any purpose beyond returning an identification result

• No location data, device data, or personal information is included in the AI request

• Use of the AI Identify feature is entirely optional

3. GPS & Location Data — Zero Collection Policy

EcoLog uses GPS solely to record the coordinates of wildlife observations on your device.

• Location data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to any server

• Corp. Exciting does NOT collect, store, or transmit your location data to any first-party or third-party service under any circumstance

• Location data is never used for advertising, analytics, behavioral profiling, or any purpose other than local observation logging

• No third-party SDK, analytics tool, or advertising network receives your location data through EcoLog

4. How the App Works

EcoLog operates entirely on-device for all core features:

• All observation data, species entries, and field notes are processed and stored locally on your device

• All map rendering uses publicly available OpenStreetMap tile data — no personal data is transmitted in map requests

• No internet connection is required to use any core logging or field guide feature

• The AI Identify feature requires an internet connection solely to transmit the photo for identification

• No observation data, location data, or user behavior is transmitted to any server during normal app usage

5. Third-Party Services

EcoLog relies on the following third-party services:

Distribution Platforms

• Google Play Store (Android distribution)

• Apple App Store (iOS distribution)

These platforms operate under their own privacy policies. Corp. Exciting is not responsible for their data practices.

Advertising Networks The App may display advertisements served by third-party ad networks. These networks may receive your device's advertising ID for the purpose of delivering ads. No location data, observation data, photo data, or any other personal or behavioral data is shared with these networks by Corp. Exciting.

AI Identification API The App connects to an external AI API endpoint solely for species identification. Only the submitted photo is transmitted. No personal data, location data, or device data is included in this transmission.

Map Tile Service The App uses OpenStreetMap tile data for map rendering. Map tile requests do not include any personal data, location history, or user identifiers.

No third-party analytics SDKs, crash tracking tools beyond platform defaults, or behavioral tracking libraries are integrated into EcoLog.

👉 Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data.

7. Security Measures

EcoLog protects your data through:

• AES-256-CBC encryption for all locally stored observation and species data

• Secure app sandbox storage for all on-device data

• OS-level Keychain (iOS) and Keystore (Android) for sensitive credentials including AI API tokens

• HTTPS-only network transmission with cleartext traffic disabled

• No server-side user database of any kind

• No persistent logging of user activity on external servers

• No use of third-party analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs

• Input sanitization on all user-submitted text fields

8. Your Rights & Control

You have full control over your data at all times:

✔ Delete all data → Uninstall the app or use Clear All Data in Settings

✔ Delete individual observations → Remove via the observation detail screen

✔ Delete species entries → Remove via the field guide detail screen

✔ Delete AI configuration → Clear via Settings → AI Configuration

✔ Opt out of personalized ads → Via your device's advertising settings

✔ Contact us → Request clarification or raise privacy concerns at any time

9. Protection of Children's Personal Information

EcoLog is suitable for all ages and contains no age-restricted content. We do not collect personal data from any users, including children under the age of 13.

The App does not:

• Require account registration

• Request any personal information from users of any age

• Collect or store any identifying data from children

If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the App, please contact us immediately at corp.exciting@gmail.com. When children use the App, parental guidance is recommended.

10. International Data Processing

EcoLog does not transmit user data internationally or to any external servers operated by Corp. Exciting. All core app functionality is performed locally on your device.

The only external transmissions are:

• Your advertising ID, handled by third-party ad networks operating under their own international data policies

• Photo data submitted for AI identification, transmitted securely to the configured API endpoint

Corp. Exciting does not control or access advertising ID data once transmitted to ad networks.

11. Accuracy of Ecological Data

EcoLog's AI identification feature returns probabilistic estimates based on image analysis. Corp. Exciting does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any species identification result, conservation status, habitat description, or ecological data displayed in the App. Users should not make critical ecological, conservation, or land management decisions based solely on data provided by this App.

12. Privacy Policy Updates

We may update this policy to reflect:

• Legal or regulatory changes

• New features or capabilities added to the App

• Changes to third-party ad network integrations

• Changes to AI identification service providers

• Improvements to local data handling and encryption

Updates will be communicated via:

• App Store or Google Play listing description

• In-app notice where applicable

Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimer

EcoLog is an independent ecology logging application and does NOT:

• Guarantee the accuracy of any AI species identification result

• Collect, store, or transmit GPS or location data under any circumstance

• Collect, store, or transmit personal data beyond the advertising ID described in this policy

• Represent or speak on behalf of any government agency, wildlife organization, scientific institution, or conservation body

• Serve as a substitute for professional ecological assessment or biological survey

Corp. Exciting is not responsible for:

• Any decisions made based on species identification results or ecological data displayed in the App

• Any injury, accident, or harm occurring during outdoor wildlife observation activities

• The data practices of third-party advertising networks

• Platform-level data handling by Google Play or Apple App Store

• The availability or accuracy of external AI identification services
