About this app

• Safe Scan was developed by the Exciting Team using Flutter, integrated with Google AdMob for analytics and monetization. The app uses your smartphone’s sensors (magnetometer, camera, flashlight, Wi-Fi scanning) to help detect hidden cameras or suspicious devices in your surroundings.

Permissions & device access

• Safe Scan may request certain permissions to operate:

• Camera & flashlight – used to detect lens reflections and infrared lights.

• Magnetometer sensor – used to analyze abnormal magnetic field changes.

• Nearby Wi-Fi/device scanning – used to detect hidden or suspicious networks/devices.

• Coarse location (approximate) – used only when tagging scan results with optional location data.

These permissions are only used to provide the app’s core detection features. Except for scan history you explicitly save to your own device (via SharedPreferences), we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data.

AdMob & sensitive data

• The app integrates with Google AdMob to display ads. While AdMob may use certain data for personalized or non-personalized ads (depending on your consent), Safe Scan does not itself collect or store sensitive data such as precise location, personal identifiers, or contact details. We never harvest, transmit, or sell user data.

Data accuracy & limitations

• Detection features (magnetic field, Wi-Fi scan, camera/IR, flashlight reflection) are designed to assist you in identifying potential risks, but: They may produce false positives or negatives due to environmental factors.

• Results should be used as guidance only, not as definitive proof of hidden devices.

• Safe Scan cannot guarantee complete detection of all malicious devices.

• The Exciting Team provides this app “as is.” We are not liable for any decisions, interpretations, or actions made solely on the basis of the app’s results. For safety-critical or legal matters, always verify with professional inspections or consult appropriate authorities.

User responsibility

• If suspicious signals are detected: Document your findings (screenshots, timestamps). Report to the relevant property management or local authorities. Do not attempt to tamper with or destroy property yourself.

Any scan results or history you choose to save are stored locally on your device via SharedPreferences. We do not upload or transmit this data to our servers.

3. Advertising & Third-Party Services

SafeScan uses Google Admob to display ads. Advertisements are essentially displayed on the app if you use the app regardless of your request. However, there is no personalized information and settings.

• Admob can collect ad IDs to provide and improve ad services, but it does not transmit any data that is not related to the ad publication service, such as location information.

• SafeScan itself does not collect, store, or sell personal information.

4. Data Usage & Retention

• We do not collect or retain personal data on our servers.

• All scan data and settings are stored only on your device unless you choose to export/share reports.

• If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data will be deleted automatically.

5. Security

While no system can guarantee absolute security, Safe Scan is built to minimize data collection and reduce risks by keeping scan history and preferences on your local device.

6. Children’s Privacy

Safe Scan is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

As Safe Scan does not collect or store personal information on our servers, there is no data for us to provide, modify, or delete. You have full control by managing or deleting the app and its local data.
