Self Portrait

This is my self-portrait. I drew this with a pencil which is why there is no color except for black and white. It is from a slight side angle of my face because when I draw faces, its always straight with no angle and I wanted to try something new. My piece has an informal balance since it's not symmetrical. My first thought was to smile but, I don't really smile. I usually have a straight face so that's something that changed in the process of drawing. There's no meaning behind this piece, it's just a portrait of my face which is why it relates to my life. I wish I added more detail though, I feel like my portrait is bland and it doesn't look like me that much.

Perspective Drawing

This drawing is a corner of my room. It has a comfy bean bag which was quite difficult to draw but I think I did a good job. The drawing also consists of a table, three shelves, fairy lights, and a tail shaped clock. It also has a painting which is the blank rectangle on the wall because I wasn't sure how to draw the painting or if I even should. This drawing was made with just a pencil which is why it's black and white. I chose to draw this corner of my room because I'm always in this corner, It's my favorite thing about my room since its comfy and I think it looks pretty. My piece has an informal balance since it's not symmetrical. Surprisingly, I didn't revise this drawing at all. There's nothing that changed because this is how I wanted it to be portrayed. The story of this artwork is how simple yet comfortable this corner is. There's nothing special about it yet, I spend all my time there which is why I think it relates to my life because it shows how creative I am with the painting, lights, and shelf. I could've taken these essentials out but they describe who I am as a person which is why they are there. Although, I wish I added color so you could see more of my creativeness in this piece. This corner has lots of colors and is far from bland.

Still life drawing

This is my still life drawing. To be honest, I didn't know what to draw and was looking around and just looked up. Thats when I saw a hanging outlet and thought it would be quiet interesting to draw, so I did. This drawing has no color since I used only pencil. This was hard to draw since it was from a different perspective and wasn't flat which is why I chose to draw this to challenge myself and try something new. My piece has a informal balance since its not symmetrical. I was thinking on drawing this like it was flat on a table so it would be less difficult, but thought it would be more interesting if it was hanging like it originally is. Theres really no meaning behind this drawing and I don't think it relates to my life. But, I guess you could say I see the world in a different perspective when I chose to draw a hanging outlet instead of a simple object that rests on a table like everyone else in the class did.
