Figures

Graphite
This is by observational figure drawings I made using graphite. Five of the figures I made in person during class consisting of my classmates and five of the figures are from image references of my friends/random people standing in my camera roll. Because all these mini drawings were processed in a short amount of time (1-4 minutes) I worked very quickly, sketching out the rough idea of the figures and with the remaining time I made, going back and adding more detail with shaping. I realized this was a difficult task for me, I felt like I wasn't accurately sketching the figures out right, the proportions looked off, and they didn't look realistic. I think it was because of the time I had, and it made me stressed out that I just tried to draw what I was seeing, but trying to draw everything I was seeing instead of taking my time and starting with drawing every part of the figures roughly and accurately and then later touching it up. I also had a hard time with angles, I wanted to be able to draw the figures looking straight at them, not at different angles because it was hard to capture what exactly I was looking at. I definitely think this project helped me with trying something new, using new techniques, playing with time managing, and rough sketching. I hope that as we go on with observational drawings, I can make my sketches more precise and accurate to make an outcome I am happy with.
