Pure Contour

Pure Contour Hand Drawing

Pure Contour Three Views of a Shoe

These are my blind contour drawings. The setting on the left is my left hand with a rubber hand twisted from my thumb to my pinky. The drawing on the right is three different views of a croc. I used only pencil on both of my works which is why there is no color. I chose to put the rubber band that way because I thought it would look cool and unique. I also chose a croc because the day I drew this drawing, I was wearing slides and I thought that would be boring to draw, so I asked my friend If I could draw her croc with her. These lines are dark and clean, not sketchy and "hairy" which was a bit of a struggle for me, but I think I pulled it off. One thing I changed was the shoe. I was originally going to bring in a sneaker to draw since I thought it would be super fun, but sadly I forgot it at home. There really is no meaning in either these drawings nor tell a story. I guess it relates to my life because I love crocs and that instead of being simple, I will go a bit more complex to do something I want to do. Drawing the rubber band was a struggle and I re-did it at least 5 times. I wanted to change my whole drawing, but I loved how the twisted rubber band looked, so I spent a really long time doing it, and make it look the best I could. One thing I might change is the way I drew the front of the croc. I did exactly the front, and I wish I added a small angle because if you didn't know it was a croc, it wouldn't look like the front of the shoe. Other than that, I'm proud of my drawings since It was my first time pure contouring and it looks; in my opinion; fairly well.
