Final Project
Chain and Cube
This is my Representational Wire Sculpture project of my Viva La Juicy- Juicy Couture perfume bottle. I made this project using wire and mesh with the help of some needle nose pliers. I used a fish hook technique to connect the wires together and also added some extra support to places that needed it. The bottle itself is actually 2x2.5x1 inches, so I decided to times each side by 3 to make the sculpture bigger. This perfume is super special to me because when I was around 10, I smelled it one time at a Macys store, and instantly fell in love with the scent. For years I wanted it, but it was more on the pricy side, and I never really had that kind of money myself, and my parents didn't want to buy it for me because they didn't think a teenager should own a perfume that was expensive. But, for Christmas I got the perfume itself as well as two packs that included the shower gel, lotion and perfume. I was beyond happy and Ive always cared about how I smelled since 8th grade. Its an embarrassing story, but I got made fun of for not smelling the best. I didn't wear perfume or scented lotion like everyone else at my school, and I sort of just smelled boring. Ever since, I have made sure Ive smelled good, but not just to satisfying others but also myself. I never leave my house without spritzing some of my favorite perfume on me. It makes me feel confident in a way, and It will probably last me awhile saying I have three perfumes total now. If I', being honest, I didn't really like this project. It was a very hard struggle for me, and the wire was super difficult to work with. I'd also like to add that this projects made my hands hurt a lot because of the pliers. This was definitely not one of my strongest artworks. My two formatives got graded very poorly, and I'm not proud of my work. I feel like my final project is horrible. I hope I never have to use wire again.
