Self Portrait

This is my self portrait. We had to create this from a different angle by looking down, which was different but a mirror was very helpful. I didn't made any modifications, I just tried to draw what I saw in the mirror. Since this was timed, its not super accurate or detailed. I didn't want to go all out, so I just stuck with my graphite pencils. It was really hard to make it seem like I was looking down, especially since my portrait barely had detail, but I tried to put the most I could on the paper for 20 minutes. This was actually my second draft, because I felt like the first draft was very messy and didn't look like me. I still don't think this looks like me, but Its more accurate than the first draft. I could step this up by adding more detail with shadows, highlights, colors, and spending more time identifying my face.

This is my second time capsule where I drew an item I despised. I drew my dishwasher because I'm always having to do the dishes, specifically unloading the dishwasher, so I've grown to hate the machine. I only made this with graphite. I stood in front of my dishwasher, timed myself, and drew the most prominent figures. I tried to make the lines as straight as I could, and eventually began using a ruler. This was also my second draft because I felt like my first one was very messy. I could go in with some color and actually fill in the dishwasher, keeping aware of the "glare" from the material and adding more details that I didn't catch before.

This is my third time capsule where I drew my house. We were suppose to draw a building, so I went outside and stood in front my house, drawing the most prominent figures. I didn't have to travel anywhere because I was already home, so I just walked out my front door. I only used graphite because there were lots of components to my house and I thought only graphite was best since we only had 20 minutes. My lines weren't super straight because I didn't have a ruler, and it was kind of windy outside. There aren't many details either because a house has a lot of components and details, so I couldn't get everything down on my paper. I was planning on adding the sliding, but I thought it would look messy since there are a lot and they probably wouldn't be straight. If I did this again, I'd spend more time and try to get every detail down, as well as add color.
