Elements of Principles and Design Diptych

Pink Diptych

This is my Elements of Principles and Design Diptych. The top box used value and unity as I used squiggly lines and shaded them, and the bottom box used color and variety where I drew purple circles in all different shapes. I believe this relates to my life because both drawings show shading and I always tend to shade my doodles and drawings in art. Pink is also one of my favorite colors to use in art, and both drawings have pink in them. I used pink colored pencil because I think that colored pencil is the best material to use for shading, purple sharpie for the circles, white gel pen for the detail on the circles and watercolor on both drawings over the colored pencil to make the color more stronger. I showed value (shading), shapes (circles), and color for this project. I thought my piece was done, but I decided to connect the two drawings even more since the only things they had in common were shading and color, so I connected the squiggly lines to my bottom drawing. I don't know what my next steps could be because I think both are pretty complete. Overall, I'm super happy with my drawings as I believe they both connect with each other.
