Circle

Captain Sara

This is my Circle Project which is based off of Captain Americas Shield. I created a twist on this though to create my own shield. This relates to my life because I am a pretty big marvel fan, I even have a wall dedicated to my marvel paintings, and I've always wanted one that was inspired but Captain America, but I was never sure what to make. I cut out a cardboard circle that was 13x13 inches which acted as my canvas and I used acrylic paint and metallic paint for color. I painted lots of layers on my cardboard because I wanted the color to be very vibrant and smooth in texture. I first started with a white base coat in order to let that happen as well, and I roughly sketched the circles on the inside as well as the star as a guide to help me paint. My project evolved as I finished the shield by adding the color and metallic paint, but I felt like it was really plain. I wanted there to be more, and I decided to paint on clouds because I really like the way they look, and I've been obsessed with making them recently. I'm super happy that I added stars and clouds because I feel like it originated my work more and made it pop out in a sense, since clouds isn't something you would normally see on a piece on this. My next step could've been to shade the clouds as well as the colors and possibly make the cardboard more round as it isn't a perfect circle.
