Surrealism

This is my Surrealism Collage Painting. The setting is a phone, perfume bottle, sign and sunset. I used acrylic paint, an oil based sharpie and a fine point pen to create my work. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to make a collage of at first, so I got random images from magazines that I liked and put in all together. Originally, the phone was going to have a blank pastel blue screen and the background was going to be a floral design. That soon changed when I saw my friend have a sunset in his collage, and I thought it was really pretty. I decided I wanted to change the phone screen because I thought it was super bland and boring and wanted to add some texture. Like I said before, this collage is sort of random so there really isn't any backstory or meaning. I think If I were to change anything, it would be the phone. I hate how it turned out and wish it was more cleaner and the size was more accurate. Some places on the painting are bigger/wider than the collage and I don't think it looks accurate at all. I was really happy with how my work turned out because I thought it looked very accurate and clean, but when I made the phone, my satisfaction went down.
