Independently Designed

This is my Independently designed project. The setting is a sculpture of Iron man's heart with a cloud background on a sunset. I used acrylic paint to paint my cloud background and for the sculpture, I used cardboard and a mixture of plastic fake snow and glue. Iron man is one of my favorite superheroes from Marvel, and about a month ago I went to go see Avengers Endgame and sadly saw his pass away. I was extremely sad and I wanted my final project to be based on my love for Marvel, and so I decided to base it around Iron Man. I also did a painting and sculpture for my Mid Term project, and I loved it so much. It's one of my favorite artworks that I've ever made and It was super fun to make. That was my first time making a sculpture too, and I wanted to make another one. I also love painting because it's so calming and fun to do, and so I knew I wanted to create a painting/sculpture project. I've seen lots of cloud paintings recently, and I've always wanted to try and paint one, and I thought this was the perfect opportunity. When I think of heaven, I immediately think of a cloudy sky; usually a pretty blue sky. Iron man is a special character and I didn't want to have just a blue sky, so I added a twist and made a sunset. I thought it best fit with his personality too. Iron man's heart is originally red, silver, and a glowing blue, but I felt like the colors were way too bold, and that It wouldn't fit with the painting. So, I adjusted the colors a little and made them more light and pastel. Now, it's pink instead of red and baby blue instead of more of a navy blue. My first ever Avengers movie that I ever watched was Iron Man 1. It was my favorite movie for the longest time and I was just becoming so attached to his character when his death really saddened me. I thought his heart was such a cool feature of his because its an arc reactor that powers his Iron man suit. I even have a necklace with his heart as well, and I always wanted to paint a painting that was Marvel themed, so I did so. I got super excited and I finished my project on Sunday, and the actual project was introduced on Tuesday. Iron man will always have a special place in my heart, and I really just wanted something that I was hopefully put in my room that reminded me of him. I am extremely proud and happy with my final project and I honestly wouldn't change anything.
