Printer Application Settings
Introduction
Here are some of my printer application settings for printers and multifunction devices (printer and scanner and copier). See also: Printers.
Epson AcuLaser CX11N (OS X 10.8)
System Preferences: Print & Scan
Limited amount of settings here. Instead, in an application go to File, Print and try to find "Printer Settings" option (text box that probably says "Layout"). More info in "File, Print (...)" section below.

File, Print menu in different applications
Google Chrome 30: File, Print..., Print using system dialog... (⌥⌘P). Select "Printer Settings" from the text box that probably says "Layout".
Adobe Reader X: File, Print..., Printer... Select "Printer Settings" from the text box that probably says "Layout".

Color Management
[x] Let printer determine colors (important so that e.g. orange is not yellow)
[x] Treat grays as K-only grays ("any grayscale as well as RGB graphical objects [--] are printed using only the black (K)")
[x] Preserve Black

Note: here you can edit and save Presets for color printing, black and white printing, precision printing (CAD), etc.
Note: make a Preset for "Color CAD" (for color paper, for maps) and "Black & White CAD" (for plain paper, for maps).
