Driver Installation Times

Introduction

Here are some of my driver installation times (approximate times) including accompanying applications. With Windows I restart after each installation disc as Windows is prone to errors if you don't restart after installing software. HP laptop drivers disc also includes for example some Microsoft security updates. FS laptop: drivers & applications

- including for example Nero and InterVideo software:

- conventional hard drive: 13 min

- SSD hard drive: 25 min

HP laptop: drivers & applications

- note: after installing drivers and applications, check your Power Options in Control Panel

- note: .NET 1.1 seems to speed up Windows startup, so install it from the drivers installation disc

- I don't install all software that comes with the drivers and applications installation disc, such as Adobe Reader, Flash, iTunes and Java, also I don't install HP Wireless Assistant as it's useless:

- conventional hard drive: 31 min

- SSD hard drive: 1 h 9 min

Wings desktop: drivers & applications

- note: don't insert Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro or D-Link DGE-528T in to computer before installing drivers to Blackmagic and D-Link

- time: 36 min
