Physical Description
Zidmakan are large, amorphic beings with a single dark eye that constantly takes in its surroundings. They disguise themselves as walls and solid barriers and hide in quiet, dark locations where they can hunt in peace. They are dark, translucent creatures that can grow up to twenty feet high as they age. Since they are made out of a slime-like material, it is easy for them to manipulate their appearance and blend in with their surroundings, especially in dark locations. They rely on creating temporary tendrils to reach out and grab their prey.
Biology
A zidmakan has no mouth and no true solid form. It communicates using mental vibrations and is said to be the race of true telepathy masters in the world.
Reproduction
All zidmakan reproduction is asexual. Once it reaches a certain level of power, it splits itself into two daughter cells, both of which identify as different beings from the original. Sometimes, there are cases of a zidmakan's daughter cell recalling memories or associations from their parent, but those situations have not been recorded in great detail.
If someone comes across a zidmakan with two eyes, it is in the process of dividing.
Diet
Meat. Any kind of meat they can get at. They are opportunistic and will eat whatever stumbles across their path unless they've fed recently.
Magic and Abilities
Their main magical capabilities are telepathic. Some of them work hard to use magic as an illusion, too, so they are harder to see.
Culture
Zidmakan are solitary creatures that do not remain around others of their kind for very long. They appear to have a respectful acknowledgement of one another and try not to end up in another zidmakan's hunting territory.
Their relationships with other species are less genial, and end much more frequently in a good deal of death.
Their eyes are hard to obtain and are seen as rare treasures by humans.
