Mips

Interests

Mips is very intrigued by human tools and items. He keeps a collection of them in a small stone cave he claimed a while back. He doesn't always know what they're used for, but he has a lot of pretty good guesses. He knows he could ask Annora what they're for, but, he likes to plan his life around not needing to ask Ano for favors. It saves him a lot of headaches and time. He's one of the few mirmurks who finds it worthwhile to dive down in the pools where the sleepers are.

He gets moody when things aren't going well, which leads him to draw away from other people.

He's got a bad habit of meddling in things that don't involve him, though he's not as bad about this as his mother. Just, sometimes? There's something he knows he needs to give his input on, even though nobody asked for it and he wasn't directly involved in the situation.

Personality

Mips is a weird combination of curious, stubborn, and introverted. He likes learning about the world he lives in, not just the swamp, but he's also very comfortable exactly where he is. He's got a strong sense of right and wrong, which can be a little bit skewed at times. Still, it gives him a moral compass to follow, which he is determined to sticky by.

Mips loves to help others. Absolutely loves it. He and his friend, Ruuck, make it their job to help other people in the swamp, with mixed results. He can be a bit idealistic, which doesn't always help him with his goals, but, his heart is in the right place.

Magical

Mips' main specialty is ice based elemental magic. Unfortunately, he's still trying to get some of the side effects of it under control, which has led to him having days where he's obnoxiously cold. He's trying really hard to not have that be a problem, but that effort has him pushing himself too hard. He has high expectations for himself and it keeps him from fully getting his powers in check.

He's really good at teaching others how to get their powers under control, at least.

Let it be known that Mips is not a strong man. He is small and kind of a wimp, but he tries his best.

Relationships

Addy- They are a little bit overwhelming sometimes, but Mips knows they mean well for the most part. Just, wow, can they be terrifying with all the stuff they know and all the information they want.
Annora- A problematic friend of his. She's really smart, but her manners are more on par with his grandparents than he'd like.
Iso- A cute and sweet human he found in the swamp and helped out. He thinks she's really clever and admires her determination. He's glad Yoogurt is giving her a place to stay and help out, since he's not sure if his grandparents are ever going to relent.
Larice- A strange mechanical man Mips found in the swamp after a crash. He's the first android Mips has ever found that still worked post-crash, which instantly endeared him to Larice. He's working hard to keep Larice safe from Larice's own bad choices, like staying out in the rain, and has also taken it upon himself to teach the android how to control his magic in a safe way. Things are going ok.
Pon- It's really complicated...
Ruuck- One of his very best friends! Ruuck is a good counterbalance to Mips while still having a lot of interest in helping others. He's helped Mips get a lot more confident over the past few years. Mips is very worried about him right now, seeing as he was maimed and assimilated by an alien recently.
Vivek- Mips' older brother! He loves Vivek a lot, even though he's caught up in things that seem way more important than what Mips does. Not that Mips would tell Vivek that, it might make him feel bad or something.

History

He's also fond of singing, much like his mother and brother.

He's come up with a lot of nicknames for them over the years, so it's a bit tricky for him to deal with some of them introducing themselves with new names. Still, he respects the fact that he was wrong and has taken to helping some of the wakers with finding names. He's hoping to find some way to help Ruuck be more at ease after the accident, too, but he's not sure there's any solutions other than time.
