he was a human, one day stumbling into a very nasty curse that reduced him to a pile of sentient goo. he was then found by nester's family and used as a bit of a freak show for money. nester stole him away and they ended up on a ship.

he's got a surprising extensive knowledge of culinary skill, though currently lacks the means to properly utilize them. good thing he's got a friend with hands.
his curse reduced him to a pile of slime, so nothing much can keep him out if he's trying to get into some place, unless it's legitimately airtight.
