A mnemodi who escaped from the Forest of Shadows when it burnt down. He is a father of probably two and is very devoted to his children, even if he's more than a little terrifying about it.
Born and raised in the Forest of Shadows. He was always a cunning child and had a way of getting everywhere he shouldn't be in the forest. He was curious, but treated it more as a game than information gathering. He wanted to find out just how much he could know about others and the world around him, so he tried to observe more and rely less on asking questions. He was never afraid to speak his mind, but realized that others had the same right to do the same. It was something he found interesting. Nobody had exactly the same opinion, and that was interesting and unique. This knowledge drove him to leave the forest for a while once he was old enough to feel capable on his own.
Early Travels
Dia continued to learn more about others as he traveled outside of the forest. He visited small towns and tried to learn more about humans as well as monsters. He was less successful than he hoped and met enough negative responses to himself that he pulled back for a while and stayed to out of the way areas and watching from afar. He stuck around the shores more than the inland regions and got to know a few of the locals quite well. There were a few people he got into short relationships with, but none of them lasted very long. He worked as a fisherman for a year for a group of monsters that taught him everything he knows about the craft. Dia started to collect interesting masks as they appeared in port towns and amassed a good collection before a woman he'd fallen hard for handed him an egg, told him it was his, and left.
Returning to the Forest
He decided to return to the forest with his new found egg child with the intention of leaving it off with the guardian and then heading back to exploring the world. He was convinced he would make a terrible father and that it would be easier for everyone involved if the unwanted egg was left in the forest. Alteer had a talk with him and he ended up staying with the egg and worked hard to learn just what he was expected to do to raise a kid. It was an important lesson in responsibility and focus, and he remembers those months with fear and pride. It's one of his big turn-around moments where he feels like he made a real change for the better.

Relationships
Family
Alteer - A precious person who Dia considers his aunt. She was around ever since his ears unfurled and she was a solid support for him when he returned to the forest with an egg and no idea what to do. She picked him back up and reminded him to keep pushing forward, especially with a family to take care of. She is the reason his youngest son is alive, and he feels blessed to have her as the guardian of his forest. He was distraught at her death, and, even though he does his best not to show it, the loss is still something he struggles with.
Rene - Dia's sensitive youngest child. Dia isn't entirely sure what happened to make Rene so skittish with violence, but, he tries to take it in stride and does his best not to upset the boy. He is always on edge about Rene's health, owing to his rocky start to life, but tries to give him space to grow and come into his own.
Rupert - Dia's eldest son and the reason Dia returned to the forest. Dia is very proud of his eldest son and wishes he could give him an easier life. He admires how diligent Rupert is with taking care of Rene and is aware that his kid has grown up a lot since the forest burnt down. He puts a lot of trust in his eldest and tries to make sure he knows how much he cares, even if he shows it in his own way.
Te'Keer - Dia calls him his uncle. Everyone in the forest calls him their uncle. He, alongside Alteer, helped support Dia through the hard moments of his life. Without a forest, it's been harder for Dia to seek him out for help, especially with his increasing pride in self-sufficiency, but he knows that, when it comes to it, Te'Keer is there to help him.
Acquaintances and Friends
Audrey - He's glad to have the multibear along, keeping Rupert company and stretching his boundaries. He thinks he's a good kid, as far as bears go.
Early Life
In his youth, he was open-minded and curious. He had a manner about him that was unsettling, but nothing more.
Personality
Cunning, clever, brutal, and distant, Dia gives the impression of not caring about anything that doesn't have to do with him or those he cares about, and, at the current moment, that impression is entirely on the mark. He's loyal, determined, and not one to care about formalities. He does what he feels like doing without considering how others view him.
