“What’s your plan this time, Lucky?”
“Yeah, where are you going to go?”
“Will you be gone a long time? If you are, you should bring something tasty back!”
“Oooh, yeah! Find us a nice fruit! I want to try something good from far away!”
Lucky laughed and adjusted his satchel. The kids got so excited when he planned trips, it was really cute. He turned to face them, his ears flicked back and his tail curled up.
“I’ll do my best. This is going to be a longer trip, though, so it’ll take a while.”
The kids started to complain, but he knew he didn’t have much time. He wanted to get off the cliff sides before the sun rose. Lucky waved the kids goodbye and started to climb. Unlike most times, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to find. He didn’t have a goal in mind, just a general idea. The world had such a strange feeling to it these days. There were rumors all across the plateaus about death and suffering. He wasn’t a fan of that idea. There had to be something out there for people like him to do. Some kind of adventure he could go on to help those in need. He wasn’t sure what It was, but, he knew he’d never find it if he didn’t set out and start his search right away. No time like the present, after all.
