A 48 hour trip to Olivemead Lake. Rob, Steve and Martin, draw pegs on this wonderful little lake.
Steve in the Oak Tree and Rob in the Snug both blank. Only Martin caught, but what a fish 32lb landed on the first night a scattering of boilies thrown into the bay on the right of the swim. (Picture in the Gallery).
There was 1 fish caught from Martha's Pod and two fish caught by the guy in the Lodge.
Steve was harassed by the waterfowl. I myself saw three geese coming out of his bivvy. He was spitting feathers!
Steve has requested that the references to jam should now be directed towards Martin? In hindsight Marts AKA should change to 1 fish.
After all this won't be the first time Martin has fished a large carp water only to catch 1 fish.
We were told that the very high air pressure has a dramatic effect on the lake and is probably responsible for killing the fishing.
This is a Great Lake in pleasant surroundings, well worth a return trip despite the noise from the motorway!
Where's Phil? Tenerife!
