Lyle and Steve go the River Severn for Lyles first ever river session. They drop into a peg on the brook section and put four lines out due to it being busy arriving tea time.
Within minutes Lyle has his first chub at around 1/2lb then another soon follows. Steve's lines go in to bank yet more chub.
They decide to go back down stream to find all the best pegs still occupied by other anglers so share a peg with just steve's rods out.
Lyle gets his first ever barbel run only to loose it after a couple of runs.
Fishing was slow but eventually two barbel are banked at 7 and 6lbs, Lyle is chuffed with a PB 7lb barbel and Steve happy knowing Lyle will be back on the rivers for more barbel adventures đŸ˜‰
Thanks for the report Steve!
Well done Lyle! Your first ever Barbel! I have every faith he'll be back for more there is something very special about the rivers.
There is also something very special about having a Barbel tugging at your sting.
I'll consider you an addict like the rest of us.
