Ed, should we be encouraging a member without the appropriate licenses to come fishing?
Ed's Reply to anonymous,
Yes you should be encouraging them to come fishing, this sport, hobby, pastime has a very positive effect on the soul.
In general terms we fishermen are responsible for reporting contaminates and fish deaths to the Environment Agency.
There are many stories of fishermen reporting issues to landowners or other agencies like the police.
The community of "Fishermen" in my experience often find that common ground and fellowship that is a part of the culture.
The very biggest majority care about the environment, the wildlife, and do take their litter home for example.
There is as always however a small percentage of the community who, push the boundaries may be a good way to put it?
I can only say I think my EA and my Club License is great value for money, £1 a week! You cant beat that.
if any team member is caught by the EA or Club Bailiffs they will just have to take it on the chin!
I wont be packing up early cus they cant fish, I wont be driving anyone anywhere or show them any sympathy.
In fact they should worry on! such an event would give permission to any other team members to "Rib" them until they throw themselves in the water.
the Team in general supports a law abiding approach to our activities and in addition we should treat those we meet with the dignity and respect they deserve.
I have only ever found the bailiffs to be friendly and helpful! they have my 100% support.
we care about our environment, each other and the rest of the world.
So yes encourage them to fish, but legally! (and if they don't It isn't your monkey!)
I hope this helps?
