Steve and Rob head to Coppice for a days fishing despite the weather conditions being changeable and every risk of a drenching.
Lyle couldn't make the Saturday and went yesterday with one of his mates. Lyle only took one fish an 8lb carp. his mate took 1 at 10lb lost another and also picked up an handful of bream. (5 I think?)
I guess he was using pellet? Pity they don't count either!
The Saturday saw Coppice Lake very busy indeed with very few pegs being available as the lad arrive.
Steve took an early 8lb carp and rob took one about the same a couple of hours later. Despite moving to what they thought was amore favourable spot, these were the only fish they took.
in fairness no one around the Lake was actually creaming the place. sure one guy up by the car park was having a few and a guy opposite on the corner bank was having a few. in general there were very few fish coming out. Speaking to a young lady who has been fishing the lake in recent days said there was evidence of the carp spawning on the Wednesday just gone. she had seen them thrashing the margins at the bottom of the lake on the carp park side. was this affecting the feeding patterns right now? Well I guess it may be having an effect, however so might the amount of bait going in at present.
the Lake is very popular at present and I have seen people spoding and using bait boats to deliver to the near island swims.
whatever the reason for a poor days sport the lads are very much looking forward to the opening of the rivers and plan a trip in pursuit of Barble for next weekend.
They still have days planned in at their syndicate lake as well as a trip to France to look forward too. There is still Hope and good things come to those who bait!
England draw their opening game with Russia in the Euros 2016, DOH!
