16/7/2019 Fellow Fisherman in Distress
I was speaking to a very distressed fisherman today! He's not in the team but a fisherman is a fisherman and in the interest of helping out a fellow angler, Here is his heartbreaking story!
While fishing the lower Severn with his wife in search of some river carp she got dragged in to the river and was washed downstream by the flow!
I asked for a description so we could all keep an eye out for her and the kit she was using at the time of this incident.
Here is the description he gave me!
Height: Shes not short but not tall somewhere between 5,2 and 5,10
Weight: Shes not big but not skinny either kind of medium build.
Hair: Her hair is not Blond but not Brown Somewhere in-between.
He went on to describe her clothing as possibly a blue/grey top like a tee shirt and black Leggings or Jeans as far as he can recall.
She was dragged in holding on to a TFG 12 foot Force 8 carp rod with a 2.75lb test curve, Fitted with a Shimano CI4+ XTB LC Reel loaded with 550 meters of Fox Soft Steel line at 18lb breaking strain .35mm in diameter, the end tackle was a 3oz distance pear ledger in camo green, the hook link was fished helicopter style made of Korda N Trap in 15lb Bs and about six inches in length with a Mainline Essential Cell 18mm boilie on the hair. the hook was a size 6 Korda wide gape .
The Fisherman told me he alerted the emergency services to his wife's predicament immediately, although he also stated he has not had a reply to his letter as yet! I can sympathize the postal service is not what it used to be. In future may I suggest you use a first class stamp?
He desperately wants his beloved wife back home as he is beginning to run low on work shirts and the iron doesn't seem to work properly when he has had a go!
There is a reward for information leading to the safe return of the Kit!
If your fishing the Lower Severn please keep an eye out for this fellow anglers Wife and Kit!
