I have to say there were two stand out moments for me during 2014, one being Martins "Beast" out of Olivemead, weighing in at 32LB a great fish and deserving of a mention. There are of course a few areas of his performance that Martin may want to consider for his development. Taking your head torch with you when you run out of your Bivvy at bite alarm O'Clock on a dark night. Lucky for him Rob came to his assistance and offered support.
You may also want to consider if renaming the fish "Martins" was such a great idea? where is your imagination? You could have had, Martina, Tina, Sassy Lass, Sexy Girl, Lucy, the list is endless come on??
The other great moment in 2014 was Steve catching his 16lb Pike. Another stunning fish and I am truly jealous! Again thanks to a fellow angler coming to Steve's help as it was awkwardly hooked and the assistance from the young bloke at Holt Fleet that day was appreciated.
Other unforgettable moments include Phil falling over at Arley and nearly knocking my kit into "Cromwells's Hole" Phil being sick after eating a pot noodle at Little Horseshoe, Phil striking the wrong rod at Little Horseshoe and wonders why its difficult to play a fish he believed had crossed his line when in truth is was on the other rod and line?? Laff I nearly wet myself.
Steve's trip to France deserves a mention as he caught some stunning fish, which made up for having his Tribal Rod and Shimano reel stolen "by a fish" from an alarmed bank stick without a bleep or splash to alert Steve to a run or TAKE!?
Martin forgot his brolly on a showery evening Barbel fishing at Arley and, it,,, chucked it down. He nearly went in twice slipping on the wet bank.
I would have Laughed; but he would have hit me!
Rob has been struggling all year and has at best looked incompetent!
At least he has the decency to go home and whip himself with a wet kipper, just like a samurai warrior would facing such defeat. A truly honorable act.
Quite frankly as editor I can only conclude that you are all performing, "pretty poorly!"
I hope to have better News to report in 2015 and I would like to remind you all,, of that most important lesson, "PPPPP"
Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance, and I may??? have missed one out!
"Martins" FF* ? T W A T!
