Rob and Steve head to Arley in search of Barbel and Chub.
Taking the first two swims above the Car Park, Rob draws a blank, using exactly the same tactics as Steve?
Steve had the second peg up and was fishing the lower part of Cromwell's Hole, he took an 8lb Barbel early doors and then a long 6 hour wait before taking another at 6lb and a chub at about a pound and a half.
the discussion on the way home was how can 50 yards make such a difference? Steve said that all his fish seemed to come by casting upstream in to the lower part of Cromwell's. of course hooking them was one thing and getting them out of this notorious snaggy swim was something else. Steve also lost one fish in the snags.
Better luck next trip berty!
