The first trip of the year sees Steve and Rob take a trip to Holt Fleet on the River Severn between Stourport and Worcester.
They fish above the weir in the quite water approaching the weir.
It's a cold overcast day.
Rob tries a Pike rod down his margin with a Lamprey to start and later changing this for a Roach, unfortunately neither baits attracted a Pike.
His other rod was a feeder chucked to mid water with a Boilie on the hair and a pellet mix in the feeder. He scattered a few freebies around the area of his hook bait.
He took the only fish of the session about an hour in. A wonderful 8lb Barble who put up a fair fight.
Steve was fishing a peg upstream and despite a big knock took no fish.
They both agreed it was a worthwhile trip and beats sitting in watching the TV.
