Steve and Rob head off on this Friday night for a 24hr session 7pm till 7pm Saturday.
The weather is stormy with heavy showers with warm sunny spells the pressure is around 1014mb with highs of 18 and lows of 10 deg c
They spent the first hour checking the contours of the lake using a marker float, (I know they should have done this on their first visit) .
A very useful exercise giving them a much better understanding of the lake depths, particularly in the margins.
Thieves had broken in to the hut the night before and had stolen or broken the landing nets and carp care kit. ( I hope they get caught, but I also hope they have bits of there anatomy fester and drop off).
So with only one set of kit available Rob and Steve needed to fish close together and opted for the hut side of the lake.
The fishing was a bit slow at times and the catch report is has follows:
Rob 17lb Common on XXX
Ste 10lb Common Peanut Boilie
Ste 12lb Common Peanut
Ste 14lb Common Peanut
Rob 12lb Mirror Cranberry
Rob 12lb Mirror Cranberry
Ste 12lb Common Tuna Boilie
Rob 14lb Cranberry
Rob Looses one, It wasn't Big LOL
Rob 10lb Cranberry
Ste 17lb Peanut
So none of the big one then lads?? But at least you were out there trying which is more than can be said for some we wont mention.
Steve is quoted as saying " it beats vallee this year?"
Rob is quoted as saying " I know they are in there and they will fall to me eventually, I'll keep trying its such a wonderful little lake".
Picture by Rob, a Double Rainbow: Reminds him that its during a storm your true colours shine, The very best wishes for our friend Ron who isn't in the best of health this week.
May he continue to shine like the rainbow he's always been!
Gee Wizz, Stroll ON!
