Rob and Steve head to Nafford for a bit of Pike and Zander Chasing.
They take the 1st peg at the bottom of the path right opposite the Island tip and the two channels become one.
Steve try's one rod out near the island with pellet to try and get a Chub, Barble etc. the other in the margin of his bank at first and later over near the island. Smelt for bait.
Rob tried a maggot clip on an hair with view to picking up Chub, Barble, Eel, etc. and was very surprised not to even get a knock on this rod.
His Pike rod goes down stream margin where he feeds some chunks of roach and maggots going in to the swim on a regular basis. He uses a roach for bait.
Only a small one, but welcome all the same.
A very slow afternoon, is it possible its the prolonged high pressure that is putting the fish of feeding?
Maybe they are just incompetent?
Funny old game this fishing, but still beats sitting in watching re-runs of Columbo, or Kojack on the TV.
Good things come to those who bait.
