Rob and Steve head up the Severn for an evening in pursuit of Chub and Barble.
It's a warm summer evening overcast with a chance of a shower or light rain, they are in their pegs at 5:30 pm.
Rob takes a Small Chub 1/2lb on a Boilie five minutes in to the session. He then sits back to watch the water and wildlife. A kingfisher is visiting his peg and makes a few dives right in front of him in the shallow margins in front of his rods. He also watches a Pike or large predator chasing smaller fish in various spots both sides of the swim in front of him.
Robs approach was to lay down a bed of mixed pellet all over his swim, firing in about 5 or 6 pouches before he even sets up his Rods, Net and Brolly.
Rob takes a 5lb Barble on pellet
a 2lb Chub on Boilie,
a 9lb Barble on Boilie,
a 5.5lb Barble on boilie,
a 5lb Barble on pellet,
a 4lb Barble on Pellet,
a 2,1/2lb Chub on Pellet,
a 7lb Barble on Boilie,
5lb Barble on Pellet
A 7lb Barble on Pellet
3lb Barble on Boilie
Steve takes a 7lb Barble which gives a great scrap,
A 4lb Chub,
a 8Lb Barble on Boilie
Steve also lost a number of fish in a snag mid water, this is a new snag as it wasn't there on his last trip to this peg.
A very pleasant evenings fishing except for the cold rain which lasted about an hour but it soon warmed up again after it had ceased.
