Gray Robes
The Gray Robes stand separate from the other three Sects and are almost always limited in number. Their role is much devoted to expanding their control over the Umbra through use of the moonstone and augmenting each of the other Sects with their use of the arcane arts. Weapons are tempered, spells of spying and scrying cast, and many additional tasks of mystical origin. In addition to this, they also serve as sages and keepers of magical knowledge and history. After long years and many trials - culminating with the fall of Necrucifer and Drakkara's rise to the Dark Throne - the Robes acknowledge Her not only as the benefactor of the moonstone but the reigning Goddess over the Pantheon and Umbra itself. Only through the Dark Lady can the Umbra be unlocked.

1. The Supplicant will complete their education in combat with their Legion mentor, displaying themselves capable of fighting alone, working in concert in Keeps, and other specialized tasks.
2. The Supplicant will complete discussion of the Precepts, Will, Way, and Code and receive their teacher's approval as competent in matters of faith and ethics.
3. The Supplicant will present a finished theorem of the nature of Shadow's magic and the involvement of Drakkara and Necrucifer therein. They will explain what they learned and how, whether this be interviews with external sources or their own studies. They will also explain how their viewpoint varies, if at all, from the positions of others of the Keep they spoke to about the topic, until the High Mystic is satisfied that they have complete understanding of the unique nature of Gray Robed Magic.
4. The Supplicant will compile all the information they have learned from other sources about their chosen object or person of history, and explain all they have learned and its consequences. This shall be penned to the High Mystic and fellow Council Members for review. Exceptional work shall be placed within the Library.
5. The Supplicant shall compile a report on one of the Conclave's restricted spellbooks. This shall be agreed with the High Mystic to make sure that all spell books are covered. This report shall detail the unique spells available and how they would benefit Storm Keep, should one of the chosen art be granted entrance to Storm.
6. The Supplicant shall compile a report on the powers possessed by the Paladins and Confessors of Gareth's Keep. This report shall detail the abilities wielded by our enemies and how they may be combated by the Gray.
7. A Supplicant shall choose three of the tasks of a meritorious nature and complete them.
8. When all other tasks are complete the Sect and High Council will review the Supplicants journal and judge their readiness. The Supplicant will undergo the Test of the High Council, a final trial of worthiness as a Dark Knight. Once it has been passed, they will kneel upon the pedestal and take up their place as a Dark Knight of the Gray Robes.
