Mavelle Medal of Heroism

Gareth grants many military honors to those possessed of worth, similar to our Obsidian Cross.  I find merit in this, but I see no purpose in having many.  One will do.

One may be a hero in many ways.  There is heroism in field combat, and there may be those who are shown to have zeal in faith.  There is sacrifice.  All of these and more provide a well-rounded view of Storm Keep's soldiers.  I find that overall, at utmost simplicity, there are just

heroes.

The Mavelle Medal of Heroism will be awarded to those soldiers in Storm Keep for exemplary acts and extraordinary character.  The men in the Heroes of Storm Keep segment will be awarded this medal posthumously come the next ceremony.

The Tournament of the Obsidian Cross

The Tournament of the Obsidian Cross is to be held every three months: November, February, May, August.  The winner of the most recent tournament will be permitted carry the title Knight of the Cross, will be permitted bear this emblem: [+], and will receive the Sword of the Victor.  The

Tournament's winner is entitled to these spoils until the conclusion of the following tournament.

The Tournament will always be single combat, single elimination, and each battle will be held using the rules of the Algoron Gladiator League.  The seeding for each tournament will be based upon rank, and will done in the following manner, from best seeding to worst seeding:

The Reigning Knight of the Cross

Chancellor

Field Marshall

Lord Templar

Master

High Mystic

Warder [In order: Legion, Templar, Rose, Gray Robes]

Elder [In order: Legion, Templar, Rose, Gray Robes]

Dark Knight [In order: Legion, Templar, Rose, Gray Robes]

Esquire [In order: Legion, Templar, Rose, Gray Robes]

Supplicant [In order: Legion, Templar, Rose, Gray Robes]

Novice [In order: Legion, Templar, Rose, Gray Robes]

The highest-ranked entrant will fight the lowest-ranked available entrant. Thus, the reigning Knight of the Cross will fight the lowest-ranked entrant remaining, the Chancellor will fight the next lowest, etc.  This will be re-seeded each round; if the lowest-ranked entrant upsets the highest-ranked

entrant, he or she will face the highest-ranked entrant remaining in the following round.

The Dark Lord must preside over the Tournament and is ineligible to enter. Two weeks prior to the beginning of a Tournament month, the Dark Lord will announce the date and time of the upcoming Tournament.  All soldiers wishing to enter will send a missive to the Dark Lord.  The Dark Lord retains the final say upon whom may and may not enter the Tournament, though no vigilant, active soldier should ever be turned away.
