Code of Conduct
The following illustrates the way in which a Knight of Storm must conduct themselves with regard to matters of protocol. This text details the methods by which Knights of Storm Keep shall conduct themselves to ensure that their military discipline and the commandments of His Will and Way are upheld.
A Knight of Storm must maintain their appearance and the appearance of their kit. Clothing that is overly tight or revealing is unacceptable and they will pay particular attention to matters of hygiene. Weapons and armor of humble origin are not frowned upon, as long as they are kept clean.
A Knight of Storm will remember that Shadow is a military organization and that protocol in place regarding rank and the chain of command will be followed. One must address their concerns first to the ranking members of their own Sect, and only if continued unavailability persists should one go outside their Sect.
Members of the Keep will always address those of higher rank with military formality during public discourse. Only in private and if special permission has been given may other means of address, such as personal names, be used. Peers may address each other as they see fit as long as the spirit of this rule is obeyed.
When one enters an area occupied by a higher ranking Knight of Storm, the lower ranked Knight is expected to bow deeply at the waist or execute a sharp salute. They will remain at attention until acknowledged or set at ease. Those who are seriously wounded or otherwise in the process of recovery are exempt from this.
Conduct yourself at all times with quiet dignity. Those below the rank of Knight will not at any time speak publicly outside the clan, nor write public notes outside the clan, without the permission of a Council member. Knights will exercise these rights judiciously or see them revoked.
When being addressed in an official manner by another of higher rank, a Knight of Storm will remain at attention. Their focus must remain entirely upon the Knight of superior rank. One will not fidget, stray, or otherwise falter. This is particularly important when matters of discipline are being addressed.
A Knight of Storm must at all times be mindful of the Code, and he must be able to recite the Oaths sworn upon entry at any time.
None shall lead the Knights of Storm into battle unless they have achieved the rank of Dark Knight or an officer has given prior permission.
When none in formation are ranked at least Knight or above, the highest ranking individual present will lead unless they choose to demur.
Weapons blessed by His Unholy Might will not be given to any beneath the rank of Supplicant. Those acquiring such weapons by accident should return them to the nearest member of the High Council or a Shadow Knight.
Progress through the ranks of Storm Keep is training for service. It is expected that all who have not attained the rank of Dark Knight will seek to advance themselves towards that position. Those who are perceived as not making their best efforts will be reprimanded and possibly exiled if conduct continues to remain unsatisfactory.
Individuals within Storm Keep, regardless of their training or intended path of training, will never steal from the enemy nor use similar techniques to acquire any advantage.
We are His Knights. All we do, say and our very appearance reflects upon Him. As such, we must be beyond question and beyond equal in these matters. True service and devotion onto him demands no less.
