Hannibal Barca lost his right eye due to a severe eye infection while marching his army through the flooded marshes of the Arno River in Italy in the spring of 217 BCE.
Luckily, thanks to Modern medical science, I don't have to suffer that, merely a battery of antibiotics and salves.
I'm almost entirely back to normal, but the past week or so has been a bit of a trial in terms of attempting to concentrate, so it is with regret that I will defer tomorrow's topic for Science Tech nature (and likely pick another topic the first Wednesday of next month).
