WE HAVE MOVED LOCATION!!!!! WE HAVE CHANGED TO TUESDAYS!!!!!

The board at Puente Viejo decided they didn't want outsiders using their community center, and politely asked us to find another venue.

This we have done.

Not sure if this is our final location and date, but it will have to do for the foreseeable future.

We apologize for the sudden change, but at such short notice we had to take what we could get.

The new date and time is:

Tuesdays, 11am to 1PM

Click text below for map of new location:

Quinta Loreto Hotel, Cjon. de Loreto 15, Centro, Zona Centro, 37700 San Miguel de Allende, Gto.

From Cjon. de Loreto, enter the Mercado de Artisanias alley (East, going up-hill) about twenty yards and turn to your left into the Hotel Quinta Loreto compound.

The community center is on the Southeast side of the little central park. If you are coming by car, there is a parking lot within the compound.

(The community center is in the same location as the Philosophical get-together which is held on Fridays.)

The upside to all this? There will be coffee & cookies

Mary Jane Miller asks us to list this poster. I've seen the Andrew Fletcher's lecture previously; very insightful, a good bang for the buck:

On Saturday, February 10th, we are holding an event at the primary school in El Lindero de La Petaca. Many of you will remember that we took Spanish readers to the school for the last two years. Last winter, John and Ann Caldwell and others totally refurbished the library and we installed the internet in May. During the summer, our friend and long term teacher at the school, Emma Guerra, was promoted to a government job and a new teacher was assigned to the school. The new teacher is not very responsive to gringo help, so we have not continued our program.

Our Saturday event is an opportunity to see the students, mothers and school and to assess the progress being made. Victoria’s School has continued to send their students to El Lindero each Friday to work with the campo kids. The Victoria students are helping put on a program for us that will showcase the library, internet and student talent. We are providing fruit and the mothers will have bean tortillas for us.

If interested in going, please email me ASAP. Also, respond with all drivers and cars that can go. The group will leave from La Aldea Gate at 11AM on Saturday, February 10th. We should be back about 3. Donations will be accepted for next year’s internet fee and money for Victoria’s parents to add a roof to the school playground.
