Joseph Needham—the brilliant Cambridge scientist, freethinking intellectual, and practicing nudist, unlocked the most closely held and forgotten secrets of China, once the world's most technologically advanced country.
Sent to China during WWII to counter the systematic destruction of Chinese culture and history by the invading Japanese, Needham went above and beyond his mandate, bringing to the World what an extraordinary innovative and industrialized country China was at a time when William the Conqueror was busy invading England.
