The “Big Bang Galaxy” –Brightest in the Early Universe at 13 Billion Years Old Discovered to Harbor Carbon
This is interesting, because the galaxy is merely 700 million light years from the hypothesized Big Bang and would be only 700 million years old. The problem is that the galaxy contains carbon, which must have come from 2nd generation stars, and these have a life span of several billion years before they expand into a red giants and begin to manufacture carbon atoms by fusing helium atoms.
It is hard enough to envisage a galaxy forming in 700 million years. It is even harder to explain a galaxy forming stars with carbon in said amount of time.
We will have to wait and see what observations the Webb Telescope afford us in 2020. -SG-https://dailygalaxy.com/2018/10/the-big-bang-galaxy-brightest-in-the-early-universe-at-13-billion-years-old-discovered-to-harbor-carbon/
