With all the news in the papers and on the web over the last few days about payments to managers etc. it's easy to forget that that the GAA at grassroots is an entirely volunteer organisation.Volunteers are the life and soul of every GAA club, and Kildangan is no different. The club operates on the basis of voluntary effort. We rely on parents and adult members to:
organise, supervise, coach and provide transport to teams.
fund raise.
assist with the running and maintenance of the club and it's facilities.
participate on management committees.
clean jerseys and kit.
Coaching and Supervising Teams
Please note no football or GAA experience is needed to get involved with juvenile teams. Some of the best mentors in the club have no GAA background. Also, it is not a full time commitment, drop in and out depending on when you have time available. As little as one hour a week is all that is required to help the club. All coaches have the opportunity to complete a coaching course, either foundation or level one.
Would you mentor / coach your child's team?
Would you occasionally assist mentors at training/matches?
Would you help with team admin – teamsheets, texts, etc.
Can you help in organising team events, parties, blitzs etc.
Can you help with First Aid on your child's team.
Sponsorship / Fund raising
Would you or your company be interested in providing sponsorship or advertising in the club?
Sponsor team jerseys (€700 to €1000)
Advertise on Kildangan GAA website or in club publications
Sponsorship of fund raising events e.g. Race nights, quiz's etc.
Advertise on signage in club grounds / clubhouse.
Sponsor trophy and/or refreshments for competition/blitz.
Management, operation and maintenance of club activities and facilities.
If you have knowledge/expertise in any of the areas below and would take an occasional phone call to provide advice, or if you can volunteer some time to help out, please contact any of the committee or mentors or use the contact form to leave your details.
