Kildangan U11s claimed another scalp this evening with a well deserved win against Robertstown. Kildangan led from the off and displayed some fantastic skills in picking off points. There was a very even spread of scoring in the forward division, with Cian Murtagh, Rory McGrath, Mark O'Donovan, Oisin Irvine, Cian Reilly, Cormac Finnegan, John Kelly, Michael Daly and Colm Coughlan all registering points. Mark O'Donovan scored Kildangan's only goal in the second period, thanks to a deft pass from midfielder John Kelly.
Defenders Cian O'Dowd, Bobby Wall and Thomas Browne kept the Robertstown attack at bay, especially in the third quarter when Robertstown looked to be coming back into the game. Eoghan Budds also featured prominently in defence and linked well with his midfield partners and the half forward line of Cian Murtagh and Niamh Fitzgerald.
The final score read 1-18 to 3-0 in favour of Kildangan, next game is away to Ellistown Thursday evening at 7pm. The team finishes out the U11 campaign with a home game against Caragh, Saturday morning, time TBA.
