Cúchulainn Gaels opened their Under 15 league campaign with a well deserved draw in Kildangan this morning. Played in atrocious conditions with slanting rain through the game, the Gaels raced into an early lead, thanks to a brace of goals before Nurney got on the scoresheet with a point. Nurney played a more direct brand of football in the opening period, and had the lead back to two points at half time. In the second half both teams traded scores right up to the end. Both teams had chances to close the deal, the Gaels missing a number of score-able points, Nurney going for goal on a number of occasions only to see the effort saved by Gales keeper Danny Leahy.
