Anyone visiting the clubhouse in the last month or so would probably have noticed the nice new training pitch to the right of the main pitch. Dubbed "the swell" the area has been levelled, seeded and fertilised by local agricultural contractor Michael Quigley.
This new training pitch will help reduce pressure on the main pitch for training and warm ups and also allow small sided juvenile games to be played when the main pitch is in use.
When we initially looked at levelling and seeding the area the prices we obtained were outside our budget, however Michael Quigley kindly agreed to develop the area at a greatly reduced cost. We would not have been in a position to develop this area without this assistance
The club wishes to extend our thanks to Michael and his workers for doing a great job.
The pitch had its first cutting last week and should be ready to go by next spring.
In the meantime we would request our members to respect this very valuable resource. Its critical to allow growth to fully develop over the next few months undisturbed. Please be vigilant and prevent anyone from accessing the pitch even to collect a ball. It will be to all our benefit in the long term.
